10 Minute Challenge

When you become a mother, your children come first, as it should be. They do, always. We love our child (ren) with everything in us. Everything we do for our children, we do it with their best interest at heart. But, when becoming a mother, it can make it very easy to forget that you have to take care of yourself, TOO. Have your best interest in mind TOO. Something I learned when becoming a stay at home mom was that you HAVE to MAKE time for yourself. Even if that means just 10 minutes a day.

I get on the blog and write. That is my "me" time. But your 10 minutes of "me" time doesn't even have to be a hobby! Take a bath, read a book, draw, listen to some music, wear something cute, put on something extra comfy, paint your nails, put on some makeup, meditate, or go sit silently in prayer. I know as mothers, it is so hard to "take time" for yourself. That is why I am here to challenge you ALL to MAKE the time. Ten minutes a day. A 10 minute bubble bath, a 10 minute talk with God, 10 minutes to write how you are feeling, 10 minutes to make yourself a tasty snack and a glass of wine.

Anything at all.  Paint, go walk, go run, go outside, play some music, start on a new book! It is very HEALTHY that you take this small window to do something for yourself, help you recollect your thoughts, and offer yourself a small break. It has made me a better mother, and wife. When you take time for yourself, you are happier mamas, and guess what? Your happiness radiates all throughout your home. We are the core, the nurturers, the lovers, and the givers of our home. When we are in our best form, so are our children, and so is our home.

Not only is taking time for yourself important for YOU, this will also teach your children self love and emotional care, essential needs for a quality life. If you are sitting around right now dying for some "me" time, take it. For 10 minutes. Take a bubble bath, read the first chapter of new book, pray, write, go pour a glass of wine, grab a snack and lay on the couch. You all deserve it, I know right now you all are convincing yourselves you "don't" or you "can't." You can. You do. Go do it, do it again tomorrow, do it again next week, and see what happens!
