Fun Tips for Homeschooling During the Pandemic

During this chaotic time, I think it is very important to make schooling at home as fun and structured as possible. As this can be a very scary time for our children, and a very challenging time for us. This week, I was able to come up with some fun, cute ideas, that I hope are helpful to those of you homeschooling your children during the Pandemic.

Create a "school" schedule. I put ours on the fridge! My children wake up every morning to go look at our schedule. This allows them to better prepare for our day, and gives them a sense of predictability and comfort. This also allows a smooth transition into our new routine during the quarantine.

Pack a lunch! I pack my girls lunch the night before. I normally pack a sandwich, chips or bagel, carrots, and an orange or banana (simple and nutritional). They love this and it reminds them of their daily routines at school. I even write them notes in their lunch boxes, just like I would if I was packing their lunch for school any other day (I got the cute pun ideas from Pinterest)!

After lunch, we usually head outside for "recess." This gives my children a chance to be outside, enjoy the fresh air, and get some exercise during quarantine! When it's raining or chilly outside, we stay inside and watch a movie. This also allows them (and me) a small break during the day.

I hope that these small tips are helpful (and fun) to you and your family, stay safe, and stay healthy!
